NIRVANA inspired 10 year old Kurt Cobain kids rock grunge band WEATHERWAX

This is Weatherwax, the UK’s under 11 grunge revivalists. This song is “Backwards” all about the futility of war and inspired by the author Michael Morpurgo. The song was written by the 10 year old front man. His brother is 8 and usually plays drums but is bass on this and the guest drummer is 11.

MES Grunge rock jam sesion (not rehersed)

This is our band Mind Expanding Substances playing a drunken jam. Its not really serious at all as you can tell by the lyrics but was pretty fun to play. It was filmed with a Samsung mx-20 with an opteka fisheye lens and edited on wmm.

Greg Prato’s ‘Grunge is Dead’ book reading on Long Island, New York: 4/8/09

Here I am, reading a few bits from my book, ‘Grunge is Dead: The Oral History of Seattle Rock Music,’ at the Book Revue in Huntington, New York. Included here are short parts from Eddie Vedder talking about his first show w/ Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains almost blowing their chance at getting signed, and Mark Arm regretting not being more honest with Kurt Cobain shortly before Kurt committed suicide. New Grunge bands need get together

I really think that 10-20 grunge bands need to go mainstream, and revive that fire that was around in the 90′s. The 90′s was a great decade for rock, and grunge. I know that grunge is a stupid label that was made by the media. Nirvana,Pearl Jam,Alice In Chains,Soundgarden,Mudhoney,and other bands slapped with that label were hard rock,rock, and metal bands. Alice in Chains was more hard rock,blues, and metal all rolled into one. Puddle of Mudd was not nu-grunge. Their lead singer tried too hard to be just like Cobain. They had one good album IMO.
